电磁桥式起重机的起升机构采用经典的平行轴线布置方式，小车运行机构采用低速轴集中驱动结构，大车运行采用两侧独立驱动的结构。
起重机按照取物形式可以分为吊钩型和挂梁型；按照挂梁的布置方式分为平行主梁型和垂直主梁型；按照旋转方式可分为上旋转型和下旋转型；按照操作方式分为地操、空操和遥控操作等。
