Weihua Delivers 500-Ton Metallurgy Crane to Steel Plant in Southeast Asia

Weihua Group has successfully commissioned a custom-built 500-ton metallurgy crane for a major steel producer in Vietnam. The installation represents the largest metallurgy crane Weihua has delivered to Southeast Asia to date and marks a strategic milestone in the region's high-end heavy-lifting market.
Metallurgy cranes operate in extreme conditions—high temperatures, heavy dust, and dynamic loads—demanding exceptional structural strength, heat protection, and positioning accuracy. This unit features a fully boxed-girder structure with a rigid trolley frame, dual-brake redundancy on the main hoist, and variable-frequency drives with anti-sway control for smooth heavy lifts and millimeter-level positioning.
Designed for tropical climates and steel-mill dust environments, the electrical enclosures, motors, and lubrication systems include enhanced protection. An integrated remote monitoring module collects load, temperature, and runtime data to support predictive maintenance and early fault detection, reducing unplanned downtime.
Despite cross-border logistics and complex on-site coordination, the project team completed delivery and acceptance ahead of schedule. The customer confirmed the crane will handle ladle transfer and continuous-casting maintenance—critical processes for production efficiency and workplace safety.
Weihua will continue to focus on metallurgy, port, and energy segments across Southeast Asia, delivering tailored solutions backed by localized service capabilities.
